Everyone has that one thing...

Everyone has that one thing they would kill for. Until recently I didn't have the slightest clue what that something was... But I found it.

The Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stridale. Only 18 of these rolling pieces of art were ever made, and if you wanted your own it will cost you a whopping $17,000 USD.... well, that is, it would have in 1968. Nowadays, you might be able to buy one at auction by selling your wife and children. Other than that, I don't see a Tipo 33 in my future or yours.
The Tipo 33 was Alfa's way of offering their racing technologies to the public. It had a 230 hp V8, naturally aspirated engine and weighed about 1,500 pounds and hit 60 in 5.5 seconds. While that may not sound all that impressive by today's standards, keep in mind that this was 1968, when the average car costed $2,000 and reached 60 mph.... if you were lucky.
Basically, this is not a car. This is art. And if you could pay for one using indentured servitude, than you bet your ass I would become someone's servant starting tomorrow morning.

Hip-Hop isn't dead.

Artist: Childish Gambino
Track: Lights Turned On

On Friday, a friend of mine showed me Freaks and Geeks by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) during class. I was instantly hooked. A few youtube videos and a Hype Machine search later, I found this song. I have to say, I'm impressed. It's not every day you learn about a hilarious comedian that can also rap. Quite well I might add.
If you're a fan of hip-hop, I would suggest downloading this track.

It has come to my attention...

So this blog is called "Cool Sh*t, Etc." and I want to move away from interesting things for you to purchase and towards random cool shit... Heres a good one.

Yup. Thats one of my posts for today...
Your welcome.

I can has new Italian super-car?

The answer to that question is, unfortunately, no. Well... not until 2012 and even then, I wish you good luck.
No matter how much you are willing to give Ferrari or Lamborghini for one of their new all-wheel-drive super-cars, reports are saying that you may be sh*t out of luck due to the fact that Lamborghini and Ferrari have both sold a full year's worth of their new flagships.
While this may be bad news for some, car enthusiasts may actually be quite happy with the explosion of Italian exotics that will now (hopefully) be roaming the streets all over the world just begging to be filmed and uploaded to Youtube for us to drool over.
Here are some stats on each car.
Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4:
-V12 Engine
-7 Speed Transmission
-704 Horsepower
-0 to 62 in 2.9 seconds
-Top speed of 217 mph
-Price: $379,700
Ferrari FF
-V12 Engine
-7 Speed Transmission but with 2 separate gearboxes. All-wheel-drive only operates through the first 4 gears and reverse.
-660 Horsepower
-0 to 62 in 3.7 seconds
-Top speed of 208
-Price: I couldn't find an exact number, but most likely upwards of $300,000

We're Jammin'

For those of us who crave quality music coming out of quality speakers, there are many options out there. To mention a few: Bose, Monster, Sony, Bang and Olufson, etc...
But here's something new. Something different. Something from someone that almost everyone is familiar with. It's Nesta Robert Marley, better known as Bob Marley. Fresh from The House of Marley(a company owned by the actual Marley family) comes a beautifully designed sound dock that could stand a chance keeping up, if not blowing past, the competition.
It's the One Foundation sound dock out of Marley's DESTINY collection. This new system comes complete with 4 high-end speakers, a 5-inch tweeter, and a 100 watt subwoofer.
My favorite part? It is made out of the highest quality hardwood you can find, taken in the most ethical way possible and ensuring forest preservation by FSC (Forest Stewardship Certification) so you can enjoy your favorite music while feeling proud of yourself for helping to save the environment.

One Foundation will run you $499.99, although it's not officially on sale yet.
Check out The House of Marley's official website here for more of Marley's music accessories.

Real Street Art.

As far as movies go, I'm no expert but Exit Through The Gift Shop was simply spectacular. This film was directed by non-other than the notorious Banksy... If that's not reason enough to see it, than I don't know what is. The documentary tells the story of a street-artist-wannabe named "Mr. Brainwash" and how his "claim to fame" may be less legitimate than he made it out to be.
Basically, he was a man with a camera who knew Space Invader, a famous street artist. He convinced Space Invader to let him follow him around with a camera. He began meeting other artists and eventually crossed paths with Banksy.
Banksy, being a good person, encourages him to begin making his own street art but what Mr. Brainwash actually did was nothing near what Banksy intended.

I don't want to give too much away, so in order to get the full story I suggest you check the film out for yourself. Trust me, you wont regret it!

...Classic...

Here's one thing that every gear head/car enthusiast/man/boy should have. A print of a classic car. In this case, an early 50's Jaguar C Type. In my personal opinion, this print is stunning. It perfectly accentuates the flowing lines of this classic "Shaguar". For those who don't know, the "C" stands for Competition, meaning this little Brit was fast and lightweight. This lead to it winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice. And while the car itself is stunning, as is this print from Z Gallerie. You can get your own 23.5x23.5" print by clicking HERE.
As for me, Im placing my order right now.
